I was a dedicated elementary teacher for almost 9 years in the Philippines before moving here to Vaasa, Finland, last July for study purposes.
I earned my degree in Elementary Education, major in General Education, in 2014 and obtained my Master’s diploma in Educational Management in 2022. As an elementary teacher, patience, hard work, and heart are the most important key elements in succeeding in this kind of profession.
When dealing with my students, I always make sure that all of them learn and understand the lessons for that particular day — the same philosophy behind this course.

Why Tagalog is easier than you think
Filipino is easy to learn because it follows the English alphabet with 2 letters additional. Also words can be read in such a way it is written. Of course just like studying other languages it needs to start with the basics — and the basic is learning the sounds and learning to read the syllables, and words will follow.
In 1–3 months, learners may already hold basic Tagalog conversations with the right guidance.
Teaching Approach
- Learn frames, not just words — reusable sentence patterns you can swap with your own names, places, and times
- Patience first — pronunciation, glottal stops, and po/opo politeness practiced out loud
- Grammar backbone early — ang / ng / sa markers, verb aspect (completed, uncompleted, contemplated) and actor vs. object focus
