1. Acceptance of Terms and Eligibility
By accessing or using Basics of Tagalog (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
This Site is not specifically directed to children and does not offer user accounts, user-generated content, or uploads.
2. Intellectual Property and Copyright Notice
All content on the Site – including lessons, grammar explanations, vocabulary tables, exercises, structure, text, and cover artwork – is owned by Milany Guab and protected by applicable copyright laws, unless otherwise noted.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
- You may quote short excerpts with proper attribution for educational purposes to the extent permitted by applicable copyright law (for example, where a quotation exception applies).
- You may not reproduce, republish, commercially distribute, sell, systematically scrape, or host substantial portions of our content on another platform without prior written permission, except where otherwise permitted by applicable law. Personal translation of short excerpts for private study is permitted to the extent allowed by law.

4. Third-Party Links and Tutoring Services
The Site currently provides educational content free of charge. Any private tutoring or other paid services offered through third-party platforms are governed by the terms of those platforms and the applicable agreement with the service provider.
The Site may contain links to third-party services, such as Tutoroo, for booking private classes. Links are provided for convenience.
- Any booking, payment, or agreement made through Tutoroo or another third-party platform is between you and that platform or provider and is subject to its terms and privacy policy. We do not control third-party platforms.
- We are not responsible for third-party services, content, payments, cancellations, or disputes, except to the extent liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Future Advertising and Monetization
There are currently no third-party advertisements on this Site.
We may in the future display third-party advertisements to support the Site. Where required by law, non-essential advertising cookies and personalized ads will only be loaded after obtaining your express opt-in consent.
We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Acceptable Use and No User Content
The Site does not offer user accounts, comments, or uploads. You agree not to:
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract, download, or reproduce content at scale without prior written permission, including systematic downloading or redistribution of course content

We reserve the right to restrict access if we detect misuse or malicious traffic.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Milany Guab will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Site.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, intentional misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under EU/EEA consumer protection laws.
9. Governing Law, Language and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The English version of these Terms is the governing version.
Consumer protection carve-out: If you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA, you also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence. If you reside outside the EU/EEA, your local mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Any dispute will be handled by the competent courts under applicable law. Mandatory consumer jurisdiction rights are not affected by these Terms.
10. Severability
If any provision is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on the Site with a new effective date. Where required by applicable law, material changes will be communicated with appropriate notice. Changes will apply from their stated effective date to future use of the Site, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
